The Midnight Blvd Project

Midnight Blvd is a synth-pop art project inspired by the sound and atmosphere of the early to mid-1980s. Drawing from the neon glow of new wave, analog synthesizers, late-night radio, and cinematic cityscapes, the project explores themes of distance, connection, memory, and signal through a nostalgic electronic lens.

The music blends classic synth-pop textures with modern creative tools to recreate the feeling of discovering a lost record from the 1980s. Each release exists within an imagined timeline of the band’s career — complete with albums, eras, press coverage, and evolving sonic identity.

Midnight Blvd is created and directed by Jeremy Beckel, who writes the concepts, lyrics, and artistic direction behind the project. Artificial intelligence tools are used as collaborative instruments to help generate and shape the music, performances, and visual material. Rather than replacing creativity, these tools act as part of the production process — similar to the way synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines expanded what artists could do in earlier decades.

At its core, Midnight Blvd is an experiment in storytelling through sound: a fictional band that might have existed somewhere between neon reflections, cassette tapes, and late-night FM radio.
